تفاصيل تقييم المخاطر
  • MON-89Ø34-3 × DAS-Ø15Ø7-1 × MON-88Ø17-3 × DAS-59122-7 - Genuity® SmartStax®™ Maize
The genetically modified corn MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7, result of the combination by classical genetic cross of the single events MON 89034, MON 88017, TC1507 and DAS-59122-7. Event MON 89034 contains genes cry2Ab2 and cry1A.105, which encode proteins CRY2Ab2 and CRY1A.105, which control the lepidopteran pest of corn. Event MON 88017 contains the cry3Bb1 and cp4 epsps genes that encode the CRY3Bb1 and CP4 EPSPS proteins, which controls pest beetles and confers tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate, respectively. Event TC1507 contains cry1F and pat genes that encode CRY1F and PAT proteins, which control lepidopteran pests and confer tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate ammonium, respectively. Event DAS-59122-7 contains the cry34Ab1, cry35Ab1 and pat genes, which encode the CRY34Ab1, CRY35Ab1 proteins that control pest coleopterans and the PAT protein, which confers tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate ammonium.

المنهجية والنقاط الواجب مراعاتها
Proteins CRY2Ab2, CRY3Bb1, CRY1A.105, CRY1F, CRY34Ab1 and CRY35Ab1 from corn MON89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7, do not cause adverse effects on different organisms present in the environment, being as safe as conventional corn.

Comparative tests to evaluate agronomic and reproductive traits, as well as the effect of the GMO on a community of non-target organisms, showed that the combined corn MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7 does not have altered characteristics with the potential to become a weed and/or wild plant. These studies showed no significant differences in seed viability, germination, plant vigor, flowering, plant architecture and response to the main pathogens between maize GM and the controller. It was not detected, in the studied environments, no adverse effects that could be detected with the methodology used in the arthropod community not target.

Observations along the introgression of events TC1507, DAS-59122-7, MON 89034 and MON 88017, in lineages for future synthesis of combined hybrids MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7, indicated that the insertion of genes cry1F, pat, cry34Ab1, cry35Ab1, cry1A.105, cry2Ab2, cry3Bb1 and cp4 epsps did not produce changes in plant morphology as agronomic, reproductive and compositional characteristics chemistry and nutrition of grains and forages indicating the absence of interactions between the introduced exogenous genes and the endogenous genes of the receptor genome. Studies carried out in the USA and in Brazil involved the analysis of phenotypic, agronomic and nutrient composition characters of the effect of corn MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7 on chemical and physical characteristics of the soil, on the degradability of organic matter of plants in the soil and the effect of transgenic plants on the nutritional status of plants. In all these studies, no significant difference was detected between MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7 corn and its conventional control of the same genetic background, which could indicate the occurrence of interactions between the genes inserted in the combined maize and other genes in the genome with the emergence of detectable pleiotropic and epistatic effects.

A protein expression study was conducted in a non-transgenic control (Isohybrid) and in corn hybrids containing the genes cry1A.105 and cry2Ab2 (event MON 89034); cry1F and pat (event TC1507); cry3Bb1 and cp4 epsps (MON event 88017); cry34Ab1, cry35Ab1 and pat (DAS-59122-7 event), during the 2012 crop in four trials located in Indianópolis (MG), Montividiu (GO), Cravinhos (SP) and Palotina (PR), process no. 01200.000034/2011-71, approved by CTNBio. This report summarized the expression levels of proteins CRY1A.105 and CRY2Ab2 (event MON 89034); CRY1F and PAT (event TC1507); CRY3Bb1 and CP4 EPSPS (event MON 88017) and CRY34Ab1, CRY35Ab1 and PAT (event DAS-59122-7), in leaf tissue, whole plant, root, pollen, forage and corn grain from Iso-hybrid and MON corns 89034, MON 88017, TC1507, DAS-59122-7 and MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7 (SmartStax). The extracted soluble proteins were measured using the quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method in leaf, pollen, root, forage, whole plant and corn kernel. The results showed the presence of the protein in the order of ng/mg PS of tissue. Also the combined events produced by classic crossings of the
Single events showed similar results regarding the expression of the same proteins in single events. It was also demonstrated that the Mendelian segregation of the maize lineage was maintained in the backcross generations.
EN
Combined corn MON 89034 x MON 88017 x TC1507 x DAS-59122-7 does not express known toxic or allergenic proteins, being as safe for human and animal consumption as conventional corn and its products.
EN
The genetically modified corn combined event MON89034xMON88017xTC1507xDAS-59122-7, meets the standards and relevant legislation that aim to ensure the biosecurity of the environment, agriculture, health human and animal.
